Q: What is Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer and what can it be used for?
A: Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer is a concentrated, solvent-free acrylic latex primer that improves the adhesion of TRU™ Self-Leveling and acts to seal porous concrete to prevent pinholes and bubbles from forming in the finished surface.
Q: How should the Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer be diluted?
A: Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer should be diluted by adding 1 part primer to 1 part clean water. Mix with a paddle mixer. For excessively porous or absorbent concrete surfaces, double prime the surface with an initial application diluted with 3 parts water for 1 part primer. Wait 3 hours, then prime normally as above.
Q: How should the Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer be applied?
A: The primer should be applied with a stiff bristle broom or scrub brush to properly work the primer into all the pores.
Q: How long should I let the Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer dry prior to applying TRU™?
A: Let the primed surface dry to the tacky, transparent, blue film (min. 3 hours, max. 24 hours). Do not place the TRU™ if there are any visible puddles or sections of wet primer.
Q: What is the coverage of Rapid Set® Acrylic Primer?
A: One gallon of primer, when diluted with one gallon of water makes 2 gallons of solution. This will cover 400-600 sq. ft. depending on porosity of the substrate
