Legal Professional


CTS Cement Manufacturing Corporation is the largest manufacturer of specialty fast-setting cement and shrinkage compensating cement in the United States.  We seek a legal professional to manage our in-house legal matters.

Responsibilities for these legal matters include:

Product Liability
  • Coordinate defense of Product Liability claims from individuals and corporations.
  • Coordinate claims issues with Insurance Claims Adjusters.
Patent and Trademark Law
  • Assist with the development, filing and policing of our patents.
  • Assist CTS in the protection of our trademarks against infringing persons and/or corporations.
  • Management of a “trade secrets” policy.
  • Coordinate with other law firms.
         
Contract Law
  • Provide MSDS Language research, composition and review.
  • Advise on legal language in CTS accounting, bagging agreements and lease documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of domestic and international distributor and production contracts.
Employment Law
  • Advise Personnel on Payroll Law.
  • Assist in updating Personnel Manual.
Federal, State and Local Agencies
  • Research and advice on Mine Safety and Health Admin (MSHA) issues, and Occupational Health an Safety (OSHA) issues.
  • CALOSHA, Department of Labor (DOL).
  • Provide assistance with Federal, State and Local Taxing issues.
Lien Law
  • Interpretation and advice on State Construction Lien Law.
  • Provide assistance with filing Bond Claims.
Customer Collections
  • Assist with customer collection correspondence.
  • Provide assistance with third party collection agencies.
  • File small claims.
Desired skills include expertise in product liability, patent and trademark law and employment law.  Qualified candidates will have knowledge (or legal contacts with knowledge) of contract law, employment law, federal, state and local agencies, lien law and customer collections.  Knowledge of cement chemistry or science background a plus.

Cement Terminal Manager


CTS Cement Manufacturing Corporation is a nationwide supplier of specialty cement products. CTS Cement has an immediate opening for a Cement Terminal Manager (CTM) for our terminal in Santa Fe Springs, California. This position reports to the southern California Production Manager.

Key responsibilities and qualifications are shown below.

Responsibilities
The CTM will manage and supervise a rail to silo to trailer transfer facility with approximately 4 employees. Management responsibilities include: inventory control and record keeping, plant and rail maintenance, employee training and oversight, enforce of plant safety rules, compliance with Cal OSHA and environmental permits.

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have 5 years terminal experience of bulk dry goods with at least 2 years of supervisor experience. The CTM will possess good mechanical and electrical abilities with proven troubleshooting skills. Experience with handling and unloading both bottom dump and pressure railcars is a plus but not necessary. In addition, the CTM must be computer literate with the ability to develop and utilize spreadsheets, and a self-starter with minimal oversight.

Sales Responsibilities:
  • Service existing dealer accounts while prospecting for new ones.
  • Provide troubleshooting services.
  • Promote and demonstrate products at dealers and on jobsites.
